VPPPA National Board of Directors' CommitteesThe VPPPA is an organization driven by the objectives, goals and priorities set by its members, the national board of directors and committees. National board of directors' committees consist of appointed VPPPA members who provide direction to both the board and the national office.Committee members must be members in good-standing, as described in the national VPPPA bylaws, and must participate on scheduled conference calls. Members are encouraged to log in to the Members Only section of the Web site to learn how to get involved on a national VPPPA committee. VPPPA Committees:2012 Nominating Committee: To promote membership activity in VPPPA Board elections, encourage voter turnout, candidate participation, and facilitate the election process. The committee will accomplish these tasks by educating members about the election process. The committee will communicate the functions and responsibilities the open positions may encompass on the national VPPPA board of directors to ensure qualified candidates are identified. The committee will also coordinate and conduct the election process in accordance with the national VPPPA bylaws.
Achievement Committee: To develop and implement methods to identify and acknowledge the achievements of VPPPA members' experience in, and contributions to, the field of safety, health and environmental management systems.
Awards Committee: To identify and acknowledge the achievements of VPPPA members relating to the pursuit of VPPPA's mission.
Bylaws Committee: To provide support and guidance to the VPPPA board of directors, national committees, regional chapters and membership as it relates to the consistent and judicious maintenance of the bylaws, including revisions when appropriate.
Chapter Chair Committee: To assure clear communication among VPPPA chapters and VPPPA national in order that VPPPA policies and programs are consistently presented and implemented across the country.
Conference Planning Committee: To provide guidance and direction on future annual conference locations and serve as a source of information for annual conference workshop topics and speakers.
Construction Committee: To promote and encourage the expansion of VPP in the construction industry through education and assistance.
Education Committee: To provide guidance, strategy and direction on educational opportunities for our members and non-members with respect to VPP and the OSHA challenge.
Labor and Management Committee: To coordinate and communicate the benefits for Labor (Union and Non-Union), Management and their represented workforce in venturing into VPP and why it's important to stay in the VPP process. When requested, the committee will identify and reconcile issues that could result in Labor and Management disputes. Intending to be pro-active rather than reactive, the committee will endeavor to resolve misunderstandings or disagreements between labor and management before the situation becomes a road block to the VPP process.
Legislative and Regulatory Committee: To provide leadership, guidance and support to government agencies and Congress at the federal, state and local levels in a proactive and cooperative spirit in the areas of safety, health and environment.
Member Services Committee: To communicate the benefits of VPPPA membership, develops and refines new and existing benefits, while ensuring adherence to the VPPPA mission.
Mentoring Committee: To streamline and facilitate improvement and growth of the mentoring program for the federal OSHA, state-plan-state OSHA and DOE VPP programs and the OSHA Challenge Program in order to allow for consistent administration of the mentoring process at national and regional levels.
