VPPPA Partnerships and Cooperative Efforts

American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care®

The VPPPA is working with the American Chemistry Council (ACC) to promote the benefits of participation in ACC's Responsible Care® and OSHA's VPP, which include a savings of time and money by taking advantage of auditing efficiencies between two excellent performance improvement programs.

Responsible Care® is a unique program that brings together environmental, health, safety, security, product stewardship, and value-chain management systems, whether pre-existing or still-in-development. These efforts are combined with a robust community outreach program and detailed performance metrics, to help drive continuous performance improvement in multiple areas.

Please visit American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® Web site for more information.

Environmental Protection Agency's Performance Track

In 2003, VPPPA joined the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Performance Track Network, an informal partnership made up primarily of trade associations and other organizations that support environmental excellence.

Commonly referred to as “Performance Track,” EPA's most comprehensive voluntary program is designed to recognize and reward U.S. facilities whose environmental performance exceeds compliance with environmental laws. The facilities accepted into Performance Track are leading by example and modeling the way to environmental excellence. Participating facilities earn eligibility for special recognition by EPA and regulatory benefits such as streamlined reporting arrangements and more flexible procedures.

Please visit EPA's Performance Track Web site for more information.
