VPPPA Government Affairs: Federal AgenciesVPPPA represents its membership through a positive relationship with several federal agencies, including: the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Through these efforts, VPPPA has become a leader in safety and health with a respected opinion among federal and state agencies. These relationships provide the membership base with a direct line of contact to the agencies responsible for running the programs they participate in.
OSHA InitiativesVPPPA works closely with the OSHA National Office to assist in their collection of success stories. Collection of these stories enables OSHA and VPPPA to make a stronger argument about the benefits of VPP. This is a way to separate VPP worksites from non-VPP worksites to opponents of the program. VPPPA member success stories help with recruitment into the program.VPPPA member sites are encouraged to share success stories and personal experiences with OSHA. To view examples of previous submissions, please visit the OSHA Web site at www.osha.gov/dcsp/vpp/success_stories.html.
