VPPPA National Board of Directors' Committees

VPPPA is an organization driven by the objectives, goals and priorities set by its members, the national board of directors and committees. National board of directors' committees consist of appointed VPPPA members who provide direction to both the board and the national office.

Committee members must be employed at VPPPA member sites in good-standing, as described in the national VPPPA bylaws, and must participate on scheduled conference calls.

We invite you to use your talents to help shape the national agenda and set priorities for the future by serving on one of VPPPA's committees. Committee Requirements:

Be employed at a VPPPA member site in good standing, as defined by the national VPPPA bylaws.
Attend scheduled conference calls, as participation is key to being on a VPPPA committee.
Contact your VPPPA committee liaison prior to the scheduled meeting if you are unable to participate.

VPPPA committee members are appointed at the sole discretion of the VPPPA National Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.

2012 Nominating Committee:To promote membership activity in VPPPA Board elections, encourage voter turnout, candidate participation, and facilitate the election process. The committee will accomplish these tasks by educating members about the election process. The committee will communicate the functions and responsibilities the open positions may encompass on the national VPPPA board of directors to ensure qualified candidates are identified. The committee will also coordinate and conduct the election process in accordance with the national VPPPA bylaws.

Awards Committee:To identify and acknowledge the achievements of VPPPA members relating to the pursuit of VPPPA's mission.

Conference Planning Committee:To provide guidance and direction on future annual conference locations and serve as a source of information for annual conference workshop topics and speakers.

Construction Committee:To promote and encourage the expansion of VPP in the construction industry through education and assistance.

Labor and Management Committee:To coordinate and communicate the benefits for Labor (Union and Non-Union), Management and their represented workforce in venturing into VPP and why it's important to stay in the VPP process. When requested, the committee will identify and reconcile issues that could result in Labor and Management disputes. Intending to be pro-active rather than reactive, the committee will endeavor to resolve misunderstandings or disagreements between labor and management before the situation becomes a road block to the VPP process.

Legislative and Regulatory Committee:To provide leadership, guidance and support to government agencies and Congress at the federal, state and local levels in a proactive and cooperative spirit in the areas of safety, health and environment.

Mentoring Committee:To streamline and facilitate improvement and growth of the mentoring program for the federal OSHA, state-plan-state OSHA and DOE VPP programs and the OSHA Challenge Program in order to allow for consistent administration of the mentoring process at national and regional levels.
