Responsible to drive implementation of process safety principles and practices at Honeywell sites globally. (PSM Covered sites, “HON-PSM covered” sites, and other sites where process safety is appropriate)
Develop and roll out new/revised programs, procedures and standards
Assist sites with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP Compliance inspections and help sites work through any enforcement actions or recommendations
Support sites as they develop and work through PHA, self-assessment, corporate audit and other process safety/loss prevention corrective actions.
Assist sites in their PSM program implementation in support of OSHA VPP Star Certification
Coach and mentor site PSM resources and elemental leads
Continue to support or set up processes and forums for site employee participation in PSM
Ensure that the site meets critical PSM compliance dates and has an effective PSM/RMP compliance calendar
Periodically monitor sites processes for OSHA PSM and EPA RMP Applicability Changes
Partner with Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) on Mechanical Integrity and Process Safety Information initiatives and the Safety Team SMEs on Contractor Safety, HW, Incident Investigation initiatives
Serve as a PSM/RMP Subject Matter Expert (SME) as appropriate.
Work with Engineering on Risk Reduction Project scoping, funding and implementation
Validate PSM Audit Item closure
Participate in any PSM Incident Investigations & ensure quality
Serve as point of contact for PSM issues to business, help business drive risk reduction strategies
Review and approve annual site Process Safety and Loss Prevention Self Assessments for the business
Review and approve Loss Prevention abeyance requests
Review all 3rd party risk management inspection findings and work with sites to ensure proper closure of actions
Provides consult as business group Loss Prevention subject matter expert
Participate and support PS/LP Monthly Operating Reviews
•Bachelors of Science in engineering, chemistry, environmental, safety or a related science or technical field is required.
•Minimum of 10 years’ experience in safety, process safety, process and/or production engineering and experience.
•5+ years of direct manufacturing support is required.
•Practical experience in process hazards analysis tools.
•Demonstrated proficiency in process safety risk reduction.
•Strong background in effective process safety management systems.
•Solid understanding of OSHA Process Safety Management, EPA Risk Management Program requirements.
•Demonstrated skills in risk-based decision making, effectively aligning safety and business needs.
•Experience with risk and consequence modeling tools desirable; layer of protection analysis, fault trees, dispersion analysis, thermal radiation and overpressure modeling.
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; a team orientation, as well as the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels (executives, managers, and non-managerial), inside and outside the organization.
•Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities.
•International experience preferred.
•Experience in management of contractors and other technical resources a plus.
•Experience in leading a PSM covered site to OSHA VPP Star Certification
