SUMMARY

Implement and manage safety programs and procedures that will reduce injuries and their associated costs, as well as meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This position will support 29 Service Center locations within the Oshkosh Commercial Segment including NY, IL, MN, CT, OH, IN, PA, KS, WI, MD, LA, NC, TX, FL, GA, CO, CA, NV, AZ, UT, and WA. This position does involve approximately 50 percent travel.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.        
Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions and practices and develop sound recommendations for corrections
2.        
Investigate injury reports and follow-up to ensure corrective action is taken
3.        
Maintain all required documentation for Oshkosh Corporation’s DOT program
4.        
Coordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective action, if required
5.        
Oversee safety-related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulation
6.        
Update management on the status of Oshkosh’s safety program through monthly and quarterly reports
7.        
Develop and lead the Company’s ergonomics program.
8.        
Coordinate the services of insurance carriers and outside consulting personnel
9.        
Organize, plan, and steer the Safety Representative Program to ensure that Oshkosh employees are provided with a safe workplace
10.        
Manage worker’s compensation claims and oversee claims management
11.        
Maintain an active role on our Safety Implementation Team
12.        
Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, etc., on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities, and processes to ensure safe design
13.        
Develop and recommend general accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devices

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-plus years experience in a manufacturing environment

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledgeable with OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety related field
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills

7-plus years experience in a manufacturing environment
