The growth of VPPPA can be attributed, in part, to the support and enthusiasm of the VPPPA member base. Word of mouth is the most attributed reason for new members joining the association and attending the conference. Whether through mentoring other companies, attending related conferences, assisting during VPP onsite evaluations as Special Government Employees (SGE) or sharing information with other company worksites, VPPPA members, chapter board members, committee members and other volunteers are instrumental to the growth of VPPPA.
To acknowledge the recruitment efforts of VPPPA members in growing the association, VPPPA established the Site-Get-a-Site Campaign. On the membership application, new members identify which member site informed them of the benefits of membership and the association publishes the list annually in The Leader magazine, as well as in the VPPPA Annual Report. Additionally, recruiting member sites identified through the campaign are entered into a chance to win a complimentary membership for the following year.
