VPPPA Mentoring Award

In general, the person or site selected must actively be involved in outreach activities and demonstrate outstanding commitment to the partnership ideals of VPP. Each VPPPA chapter has established its own criteria for selection using the national committee's general guidelines.

Recommended General Criteria for Applicants:

1. Application must include sites mentored from January 1 to December 31 of the previous calendar year.
2. Complete contact information of applicant must be provided.
3. Three letters of recommendation – one each from a site, a supervisor and a co-worker - must be submitted.
4. List scope of activities such as – number of assisted VPP onsite evaluations, number of potential VPP sites mentored, number of OSHA training co-instructed (i.e. SGE course, OSHA Ed Center courses).
5. List initiative(s).
6. List dependability.
7. Show company commitment/support.

1. Each VPPPA Chapter Board maintains region-specific criteria following the general national standards.
2. Photograph of winner must be sent to the VPPPA National Office. Pictures should NOT be embedded or inserted within documents. Electronic pictures must be received as separate, high-resolution files (jpgs of 1MB or higher are preferred, a regular-sized picture should have 600 dpi).
3. Bio, quote or statement from the participant must be sent to the VPPPA National Office.

1. The award winners rate for the national conference.
2. Invited to attend the award winners breakfast.
3. Invited to attend the award winners reception.
4. Recognized at the opening general session.
5. Recognized in the autumn addition of The Leader.
6. Recognized on the national VPPPA website.
