Falls Church, Va. – The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association unveiled a new name and logo for their 2017 annual event, taking place in New Orleans, LA, Aug. 29 – Sept. 1, 2017. The new name, Safety+, reflects the evolving identity of the association as a resource for all safety and health professionals including non-VPP-centric companies working towards safety and health excellence. The change represents the successful transition of the association as the premier global safety and health organization rather than a place that is only for companies who are VPP.

Mike Guillory, chairman of VPPPA said “We want to make it clear that our conference is for all safety and health professionals and that our educational content can be applied to any worksite and any safety and health management system. Safety+ will continue to provide excellent resources and education for both VPP and non-VPP companies.”

The new name replaces the one used by the association for several years, the Annual National VPPPA Safety and Health Conference. “Safety+ better reflects the essence of the association and its membership as an EHS community striving to achieve a safer, healthier environment for their employees and themselves,” said Guillory.

VPPPA, Inc., is the world’s leading organization dedicated to cooperative occupational safety and health management systems. Consisting of both VPP and non-VPP companies, member sites continuously striving to achieve safety and health excellence. VPPPA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
