OSHA Official, James Frederick, Articulates the Importance of Collaboration Between OSHA and VPP

During the Opening General Session at VPPPA’s 2021 Safety+ Symposium in Nashville, OSHA’s Acting Assistant Secretary of Labor, James Frederick, asserted the importance of increasing collaboration between OSHA and VPP participants.

“VPP is an important program for OSHA,” Frederick told VPPPA attendees. He continued that the program, “provides OSHA with an opportunity to work directly with employers who want to do the right thing – who take their responsibilities seriously, and have implemented safety and health management systems at their worksite.” As Frederick closed, he reiterates that an increase in collaboration between OSHA and VPP participants, both labor and management, would ensure VPP is as effective as possible in leading the way in both worker involvement, as well as health and safety management systems.”
